During the Hardy's Wessex Branding Project, me and my old group memebers went to visit Dorset Museum, in Dorchester. I took a few photos during my tour around the Hardy exhibition, and revisited the photos for this project. I got inspired by the Hardy paper theatre on display and had an idea of creating a motion piece in the style of a paper theatre, which would include many layers that builds up on one another and have a collage/ paper illustration style.
It would corresponde to the idea of the environment changing around her, through the motion of changing each layer of the set digitally through transitions on After Effects, to give off the same effect of a live paper theatre.
One of our initial style ideas was to create a motion with a similar illustrative style of Disney's short film: Lorenzo, which was quite dark and abstract. We really liked the sketch/ raw analogue style of the illustrations and wanted to be daring enough to produce something similar. However, as we were doing our style frames we ditched the style as we couldn't create the same effect.
