Initially, I was inspired by how Hardy wrote Sue in his novel Jude the Obscure in addition to his views and quotes on women. As Hardy was ahead of his time and saw the equality and power of women, I thought of 'Hardy's modern day woman'. This storyboard shows the journey of a modern day woman in the victorian era, being transported into the 21st century and naturally being able to do what woman can do today, which were not seen as the norm in the 19th century.
During the refinement stage we change the phrase 'Hardy's modern day woman', as it gave a sense that the woman/ women belonged to Hardy. Instead we went with a quote that Gabe found "As long as the world changes", as it still went with the idea of time travel/ time changing around her yet her staying the same (as she was the modern day woman during the victorian era.)
